Greetings World,
Another week in paradise. Not really, it was extremely hot and I just worked a lot. But I guess that is paradise, kind of. I digress. There really isnt too much to mention, just a few stories. So this week, we wanted to baptize Mario, but he smoked. Not cool Mario, not cool. He has a problem and had to stop for 2 weeks, but he started again and so we had to cancel the baptism. But we are hoping we can get it back up this week! So yeah, that happened. In other news, we are trying to teach this one gangster guy and it is awesome. His name is Julio Cesar and he cracks me up. He lived in the states so he always speaks to me in english, and Elder Ramos just sits there confused haha. He always says "HOW ARE YOU DOING MY FRIEND I AM GOOD!" just like that, screaming, because that is how gangsters carry themselves. He told us that if anyone messes with us, we just tell him and he will kill them for us. So yeah, I dont know how converted he is to the gospel yet, but we will see haha. Wednesday, we went by Mario's house to visit with him and when we were leaving to go to our dinner appointment, it started raining. Hard. Harder than I have ever seen it rain in my life. It was seriously so nuts. I had an umbrella but it wasnt doing anything for me at all. Finally, we went to a pulperia that had a covering and waited for the rain to die down, but it didnt, so we decided to make a run for our dinner appointment which was like a block away. We took off running, instantly got soaked, and were just giggling like little girls out how funny the situation was. We finally got to the members house and they were just cracking up at us. While we were waiting for dinner to be ready, the LOUDEST thunder in the world happened and all the power went out for a good 15 minutes. It was cooky. Thursday President Veirs came to our zone and gave a presentation. It was way awesome. After that, one of the AP's wanted to come to our area with us for the day. He is seriously a champ. I learned a ton from him and we got a lot done. It was way funny because he is mexican too, so I kept telling him and my comp how great it was to be with fellow mexicans because they understand me so much better than the gringos. I thought it was funnier than they did haha. Saturday we had a baptism! The girl's name is Elena and she is seriously so cool. She has been attending institute and doing all this stuff like she is a member for the past month or so and is seriously such a champ. I always told her how much better she is at being a mormon than I was because I never did anything close to that before my baptism. She always gets a kick out of it haha. Anyways, she asked me to baptized her! It was super cool. She is seriously such a champ. Sunday was pretty swell too. We had a meeting with the ward and while waiting outside the church for every one to show up, a drunk guy waddled up to us and kept trying to talk to me. He kept saying how much he likes talking to Americans, but I told him I was from Spain so he would leave me alone and it kind of worked. He became less interested haha. Eventually, he went away and we went on with out day. We went back to our area and as we were walking to an appointment, there were all these kids playing in the street. One of them started SCREAMING cuss words at me. He was probably 6 years old and just kept screaming swear words over and over. After all that hatred and bullying by children, we went back to the house for the night. The whole walk home there was just pure lightning. It was super weird, it was just a storm of lightning. A lightning storm, if you will. It was crazy. When we got home, it started raining even HARDER than earlier in the week. It is rain season here apparently and Im loving it. Today, for P-Day we went to this castle fortress thing and a beach. I had the idea to take all our pics like senior pictures, so thats why some of them, the majority, look way gay haha. Anyways, thats about it. Hope all is well back in the mother land. Stay classy!
Elder Shuga
